Allan Metts

Allan Metts has over 20 years of systems engineering and software development experience, and has directed the development of market-leading solutions for the telecommunication and transportation industries. Prior to forming Arcato Global, Allan was the Vice President of Technology at AirSage — where he architected and directed the implementation of an innovative approach to producing real-time traffic information (using signaling information from CDMA and GSM cellular phones instead of traditional sensors).

While at AirSage, Allan established a Chilean subsidiary of the company, and opened a 40-person office near Valparaiso. As a result, AirSage enjoys a highly-motivated, well-educated staff of software developers and IT professionals. The subsidiary was also approved for investment grants under Chile’s high tech investment program.

Allan has established highly-productive software development centers in three different countries, has held several engineering and financial management positions at BellSouth (now AT&T), and has engineered telecommunications applications that process hundreds of millions of events each day. He takes a hands-on approach to software projects, in order to stay current in technology. Allan holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from Georgia Tech, a MBA from Georgia State University, and contributes regularly to technology magazines. He also writes frequently to his blog at www.corporatechile.com, where he comments on many aspects of doing business in Chile.

    Hi Allan,

I am an expat who recently came to Chile to source opportunities for foreign investors in the states. I stumbled upon your blog and think you have great insights on Chilean business practices. I would great appreciate if you have time for a conversation about opportunities in Chile, especially in the technology space.

By the way, I also listened to your music on ilike, I’m something of a songwriter myself. Good stuff!

    Hope to hear from you.
